On the 5th of March 2020, IEEE Sensors and Nanotechnology JointCouncils Chapter organized a virtual talk by Prof Dr Simon Deleonibus from Universite Grenoble Alpes, France. The talk focuses on novel ways of creating nanoelectronic devices and systems with optimized power consumption .
The event was held successfully with 16 participants from UniMAP and 10 participants from IEEE Penang. The talk was delivered via Skype due to rising concerns regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. Hence, the event was held internally to avoid travel.
Prof. Simon shared his knowledge about the increase in complexity of high volume fabricated systems made possible by new technologies, such as 3D integration, hybrid devices etc. He also talks about the possibility of aiming for zero intrinsic variability at device, systems and functional level through the use of new technologies. His main focus was to decrease the power consumption of devices by maximizing the efficiency of co-integrated low power high performance logic.
